Nowadays, how to ensure the confidence/ safety of the products and get customers' trust becomes more crucial than before. Since 1992, the use of certain aromatic amines which cleavage from azo and may cause cancer has been banned by Oeko-Tex standard 100. After that in 1994 Germany issued relevant law and regulation. Then EU, China, Korea followed the same trial. In Japan, the control of certain aromatic amines is progressed by Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and has been implemented starting April 1, 2016.
After the law taking effect, products with the usage of more than 30mg/kg of the specified 24 kinds of certain aromatic amines will be banned to sale in Japan.

Azo colorants, ones with azo group, take up 70% among all the colorants (dyestuff and pigment) . Among all the azo colorants, some of them may have reaction with human enzymes and reduced to amine. Certain aromatic amines are the 24 kinds of amines which is possible to cause cancer to human beings.
